The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District’s vision for every child and young adult who wishes to learn to swim, regardless of their ability to do so, is closer to becoming a reality. The Health District coordinated a specialized train-the-trainer workshop on May 4 at Collier Pool, where Swim Angelfish instructors taught 14 participants from the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department, school districts, and other community programs that provide aquatic programs.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) are reporting elevated ozone and particulate matter levels across the Corpus Christi region due to warm temperatures, light winds, and residual smoke from burning activities in southern Mexico.
