Libraries are for more than just books — they're for building communities, developing new skills, and connecting with others with similar interests. 

The City of Corpus Christi and Flour Bluff Independent School District (FBISD) will host a Joint Town Hall meeting to engage with residents about the recent change in operating hours at the Janet F. Harte Public Library, located at Flour Bluff High School. 

The Corpus Christi Public Libraries' free cooking classes are proving to be a recipe for success, attracting hundreds of local teens eager to master new skills in the kitchen.

The City of Corpus Christi and the Flour Bluff Independent School District (FBISD) are committed to maintaining a safe and secure campus for all students and staff.

To enhance student safety and comply with the safety and security requirements established by the Texas Education Code 61.1031, the Flour Bluff Independent School District (FBISD) and the City of Corpus Christi have mutually agreed that the City adjust the operating hours of the Janet F. Harte Library during regular school hours and the summer school session. The Harte Library is located on the Flour Bluff High School campus at 2629 Waldron Road in City Council District 4. It serves FBISD students during school hours and city library patrons as well, in the same location.  

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council awarded a $2,027,560 construction contract to Crawford Henrichson and Crawford LLC for exterior renovations to the La Retama Central Library. 

In response to the extreme temperatures, the City of Corpus Christi is making several facilities available to the public during regular business hours to keep cool.  

Beginning Monday, June 2, the Dr. Clotilde P. Garcia Public Library, located at 5930 Brockhampton Street (Kaffie Middle School), will modify its summer operating hours through Sunday, August 10.  

Beginning Monday, June 2, Corpus Christi Public Libraries will introduce two new library card options tailored for patrons under 18.

The National Weather Service forecasts that early-season heat will impact all of South Texas this week with record-breaking temperatures. The City of Corpus Christi encourages residents who need a cool place to visit City Libraries and Senior Centers as a cooling center during their regular operating hours.
