Burn Ban Extended for Nueces County
In response to critical drought conditions and an elevated risk of wildfires, Nueces County has extended its 60-day burn ban, effective immediately. The ban applies to all unincorporated areas of the county and will remain in effect through April 28.

City Council Approves Ben Garza Gymnasium Generator Project
At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council awarded a $205,000 construction contract to McDonald Municipal & Industrial, based in Houston, for the Ben Garza Gymnasium Generator Project. The project includes a 125-kilowatt natural gas generator, an automatic transfer switch, a concrete pad, and a secure seven-foot chain-link fence.

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council voted to authorize staff to negotiate with Aquatech to develop a Water Sale Agreement for the purchase of potable water produced and treated at the CC Polymers Seawater Desalination Plant. The approved motion instructs staff to negotiate a take-or-pay water supply agreement for presentation to the Council for final approval.

New Kitchen Supply Carts Enable Librarians to Expand Nutrition Education Programs
This spring, visiting the Corpus Christi Public Libraries might include the sounds of an induction stove or a blender alongside the usual librarian-led activities. For National Nutrition Month, the library system has introduced three custom kitchen supply carts, a specialized culinary station, and a hygiene cart, all funded by the Friends of Corpus Christi Public Libraries.
