During the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority (LNRA) Board Meeting on March 18, General Manager Patrick Brzozowski provided an update on the status of the Lake Texana reservoir and the implementation of the pro-rata drought contingency plan.

Corpus Christi Water (CCW) has reached a new milestone in developing the City’s Western Well Field by beginning test pumping on four wells at the site. This testing phase is essential for preparing the well field for full operation.

To ensure our communities remain fully informed on the City’s efforts to secure a long-term water supply, the City of Corpus Christi’s City Manager will begin hosting weekly media briefings starting this Friday, March 20.

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council approved a professional services contract with Spheros Environmental Group Parent Inc., of Round Rock, Texas, for far field modeling throughout the Corpus Christi Bay System.

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services (CCACS) announces a week-long event in honor of St. Patrick's Day. From Monday, March 16, through Saturday, March 21, residents will be offered reduced adoption fees of just $17 for both dogs and cats.

Last year, the City developed and relied on a single water-supply model. Due to the severity of the drought, the declining water level in Lake Texana, the status of various permits, and other data, the City Manager asked staff in late February to develop additional water supply models. At this time, six draft models are in development. 

The City of Corpus Christi is facing a record drought that, if conditions persist, may necessitate further water conservation measures later this year to protect the water supply.
