City Council Accepts ASPCA Grant for Animal Care Services Improvements
At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved an ordinance to accept a grant totaling $94,634 from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) for Corpus Christi Animal Care Services (CCACS).

City Council Members Swearing-In Ceremony Set for January 14
The City of Corpus Christi will hold a Special City Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 14, for the swearing-in ceremony for Mayor and City Council. The Honorable Julianna Rivera, Municipal Court Judge, will swear in the new Council.

As drought conditions continue over much of Texas, the City of Corpus Christi remains under Stage 3 water restrictions. The combined levels for the City’s primary water source, Lake Corpus Christi and Choke Canyon Reservoirs, are 19.2%.

City to Open Overnight Cold Weather Refuge Center
The National Weather Service predicts cold temperatures will impact the area Friday night and Saturday. A Freeze Warning is in effect from 3:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Saturday for the inland areas, with a Freeze Watch in effect for the coastal areas. Lows are expected to drop to 25-32 degrees.

Road Closure for North Lexington Boulevard Project
Beginning Monday, January 13, North Lexington Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Lantana Street and Hopkins Street. The closure will remain in effect for approximately four weeks.

Temporary Intersection Closure for Brownlee Boulevard Project
The intersection of Brownlee Boulevard and Ayers Street will be closed from Saturday, January 11, to Wednesday, January 15, as part of the ongoing Brownlee Boulevard reconstruction project.

First Litter Critter of 2025 Scheduled for Briscoe King Pavillion
The City’s next Litter Critter community cleanup event will take place on Saturday, January 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Briscoe King Pavilion parking lot, located at 15820 Park Road 22.
