Final Traffic Switch Set for Everhart Road and SPID Intersection
As construction crews near the completion of water line improvements at the intersection of South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and Everhart Road, they will implement a switch in lane closures in the area. Beginning Thursday, February 5, at 7:00 p.m., construction crews will remove current traffic restrictions and set up new traffic control plans in the area. Workers will be on-site until approximately 6:00 a.m. Friday, February 6.

Construction upgrades at Washington Coles Park are underway and are expected to last approximately 11 months, with completion anticipated by November. Due to the recent inclement weather, necessary road closures in the area have been rescheduled to begin Thursday, February 5. These road closures will ensure the safety of all residents, commuters, and construction workers.

City of Corpus Christi Addresses Groundwater Permit Process, Remains Committed to Regional Water Security
Ahead of the San Patricio County Groundwater Conservation District’s (SPCGCD) public hearing scheduled for February 6, the City of Corpus Christi anticipates the board will take no action to approve or deny drilling and transport permits for the Evangeline Groundwater Project. The City of Sinton, the St. Paul Water Supply Corporation, a Sinton farmer, a Sinton resident, and a Corpus Christi resident have filed permit protests. However, since filing, the Sinton resident has withdrawn their protest.
