Cold Conditions Expected this Weekend, Residents Need to Prepare
A cold front will push through late tonight into Friday morning, dropping temperatures to near freezing Friday night. Strong north winds will create hazardous marine conditions through Saturday. The City has protocols in place to ensure proper and safe City services, such as public safety, roads, water and wastewater, and animal care.

City Will Open Overnight Refuge Centers and Daytime Warming Centers
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Watch for the area from Saturday evening through Monday morning with temperatures in the 20s to 30s and wind chill values in the 10s to 20s. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

Inaugural Corpus Christi TX Marathon This Weekend
The City of Corpus Christi is preparing for the Inaugural Corpus Christi TX (CCTX) Marathon Weekend on Saturday, December 27, and Sunday, December 28. Over 1,300 runners and hundreds of spectators will participate in the two-day event. The event is drawing runners from throughout the United States. The 26.2-mile CCTX Marathon is also listed as a Boston Marathon qualifying race.

City of Corpus Christi Winter Holiday Closure Schedule
In observance of the holiday season, all City of Corpus Christi non-essential offices will be closed during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Most offices will be closed beginning Thursday, December 25, 2025, and reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026.
