Recent rain events in the Coastal Bend continue to cause an influx of mosquitoes around the City as stagnant water and high grass produce breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

Demolition is scheduled to begin on the Steamboat (Ropes) House located at 1517 Mesquite Street on September 18, following a structural evaluation that identified the building as structurally unsafe and in a state of excessive disrepair.

 Vector Control is updating the routes completed during the latest mosquito spraying cycle and informing the community about the modified schedule. These proactive measures are part of the ongoing efforts to effectively manage the mosquito population across the city.
