Most City of Corpus Christi offices, including City Hall, Municipal Court, and the Public Health District, will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

 The City of Corpus Christi and its Office of Emergency  Management are actively monitoring Hurricane Beryl and will continue to track the weather situation throughout the coming days.

The Corpus Christi Public Works Department completed two events for residents to obtain sandbags.

 The Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) reminds residents that setting off fireworks within the City limits is illegal.

The grass fire on highway 361 has been successfully contained by the City of Corpus Christi Fire Department. 

The City of Corpus Christi is actively working a slow-moving grass fire that has affected the beach area adjacent to Highway 361, between Newport Pass and Zahn Road.

 Due to recent rainfall from tropical storm Alberto and increased mosquito population, the City of Corpus Christi has ramped up its mosquito control efforts. 

The City of Corpus Christi advises residents and motorists that on Tuesday, July 4, various street closures will be in place for the Mayor’s 47th annual Fourth of July Big Bang Fireworks Celebration.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reports that a moderate plume of Saharan dust may arrive as early as Friday afternoon over portions of the lower Coastal Bend, enhancing the concentration of inhalable particles.
