 In response to the recent influx of mosquitoes following substantial rain events, the City of Corpus Christi is taking proactive measures to address the increased mosquito population.

The City of Corpus Christi has extended its mosquito control efforts due to recent rainfall and increased mosquito counts. 

 The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reports a large Saharan dust plume is forecasted to impact air quality in parts of the Brownsville-McAllen, Laredo, and Corpus Christi areas.

With the recent rainfall, the City of Corpus Christi’s Vector Control program has been monitoring the mosquito population

 The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reported that a light to moderate plume of Sahara Desert dust might reach parts of the Coastal Bend Region, including Corpus Christi, today.

At today’s regularly scheduled meeting of the Corpus Christi City Council, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved the FY 2025 budget for the Corpus Christi Crime Control and Prevention District in the amount of $11,871,085.

With the recent rainfall, the City of Corpus Christi’s Vector Control program has been monitoring the mosquito population. 

The Corpus Christi Vector Control program is notifying the public of the detection of West Nile Virus in three different mosquito pools collected on July 10, outside of the city limits at:

Phase 1 of the McArdle Road project has been completed. Starting Friday, July 12, the project will transition into Phase 2, which will require significant changes to traffic control.

With the recent rainfall from Hurricane Beryl, the City of Corpus Christi’s Vector control program has been monitoring the mosquito population. .
