The City of Corpus Christi has secured a $6.5 million Coastal Erosion Planning and Response Act (CEPRA) grant from the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for the renourishment of North Beach.

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council approved a $7.1 million construction contract to Barcom Construction, Inc. of Corpus Christi for significant upgrades to the Greenwood Sports Complex Project in District 3.

The City of Corpus Christi and the Mayor’s Committee on Veteran Affairs will host an Iwo Jima Commemoration Ceremony on Saturday, February 21, at 10:00 a.m. at Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park, 222 South Shoreline Boulevard.

Council approved an $8.7 million construction contract with South Texas Building Partners, Inc. of Corpus Christi to build the Northside Aquatic Center. The facility will be located in the Hillcrest area of District 1. This state-of-the-art facility will significantly benefit both recreational and competitive swimmers.

Due to the recent inclement weather, necessary road closures in the area have been rescheduled to begin Thursday, February 5. These road closures will ensure the safety of all residents, commuters, and construction workers.
