While not a City project, the breakwater aims to protect the shoreline from erosion caused by wave action and create habitats for marine life such as oysters and fish in Corpus Christi Bay. In addition to enhancing Corpus Christi Bay as a natural attraction, the project will provide environmental benefits for city's residents and visitors.

Work on the Everhart Road project will require pre-dawn closure on Friday. Everhart Road between Lamont Street and Mt. Vernon Drive will be closed from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. to pour concrete.

Lane Closures on Airline Road between Holly and Wooldridge roads
Airline Road between Wooldridge Road and Holly Road will have varying lane closures beginning Wednesday, March 19. Roadwork will require the closure of the northbound lane, then the center lane, and finally, the southbound lane for paving.
