Inaugural Corpus Christi TX Marathon This Weekend
The City of Corpus Christi is preparing for the Inaugural Corpus Christi TX (CCTX) Marathon Weekend on Saturday, December 27, and Sunday, December 28. Over 1,300 runners and hundreds of spectators will participate in the two-day event. The event is drawing runners from throughout the United States. The 26.2-mile CCTX Marathon is also listed as a Boston Marathon qualifying race.

Section of Glenoak Drive near Waldron Road Closed
A small section of Glenoak Drive near Waldron Road will be closed to traffic from Monday, December 29, through Friday, January 2, for utility work. Access to homes will remain available via alternate neighborhood routes.

Lane Closure Added at Everhart Road and South Padre Island Drive Intersection
To facilitate ongoing water line improvements at the intersection of South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and Everhart Road, crews will implement a switch in lane closures on SPID Eastbound Frontage Road. Beginning Monday, December 29, and lasting approximately two weeks, the center lane of the eastbound frontage road will be closed, while the right-hand lane will remain open, allowing eastbound travel and left turns to Everhart Road.

City of Corpus Christi Winter Holiday Closure Schedule
In observance of the holiday season, all City of Corpus Christi non-essential offices will be closed during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Most offices will be closed beginning Thursday, December 25, 2025, and reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026.
