Council Authorizes Agreement for Farrah Fawcett Sculpture
At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council authorized the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Friends of Farrah Fawcett for the construction, donation, and acceptance of artwork commemorating Farrah Fawcett to be placed along the seawall near the Art Center of Corpus Christi.

TCEQ Approves Request to Pause Reservoir Pass-Through Requirements
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Executive Director has approved an emergency order requested by the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces River Authority, and City of Three Rivers to temporarily suspend reservoir pass-through requirements under the 2001 Agreed Order.

Intersection Closure Part of Yorktown Boulevard Reconstruction Project
Beginning Wednesday, August 26, Fred’s Folly Drive will be closed at the Yorktown Boulevard intersection as construction continues on the Yorktown Boulevard Road Reconstruction Project. The voter-approved Bond 2020 project includes roadway and infrastructure improvements along Yorktown Boulevard and is expected to be completed in 2027.

Temporary Closure of Road Near The Water’s Edge
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department announces the temporary closure of the limited-use roadway in front of McGee Beach and The Great Lawn at The Water’s Edge, located at 402 S. Shoreline Boulevard. Preventative maintenance work will take place starting Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21, weather permitting.

La ciudad de Corpus Christi ordena una elección especial para la petición de enmienda a la Carta Constitutiva "Fair Water Amendment"
En la reunión ordinaria del Concejo Municipal celebrada hoy, el Concejo aprobó una ordenanza tramitada en una sola lectura que ordena la celebración de una elección especial el 3 de noviembre. Dicha elección someterá a la consideración de los votantes locales una propuesta de enmienda a la Carta Constitutiva (iniciada por la ciudadanía) conocida como "Fair Water Amendment" (Enmienda de Agua Justa).

Council Approves Critical Infrastructure and Flood Mitigation Upgrades at Two Wastewater Plants
At Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting, the Corpus Christi City Council approved the purchase of two emergency backup generators and major flood mitigation improvements for the City’s Oso and Greenwood Wastewater Treatment facilities. The upgrades will ensure both treatment plants remain fully operational during extreme weather events, such as hurricanes, tropical storms, and severe freezes.
