At today’s regularly scheduled city council meeting, Officials from the Corpus Christi Police Department updated the Mayor and Council on crime trends impacting the five City Council Districts and the numerous strategies and initiatives the Department is implementing to reduce crime, reduce the fear of crime, and enhance public safety.

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Planning and Development Department presented a proposed Housing Needs Assessment and Toolkit to the Mayor and Council. This initiative will be included in the Corpus Christi Housing Finance Corporation (CCHFC) 's FY 2026 budget.

Most City of Corpus Christi offices, including City Hall, Public Libraries, Municipal Court, Development Services, and the Public Health District services, will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. 

In response to recent public reporting on the Corpus Christi Housing Authority’s executive compensation practices, it should be noted that the Housing Authority is an independent agency, and the City Council does not set or approve the annual salary, bonus, and other compensation for the Housing Authority CEO.
