As the region moves into the colder winter months, Corpus Christi Water (CCW) is sharing helpful tips for homeowners to protect plumbing during the cold weather.

The City of Corpus Christi today acknowledged the action taken by Moody's Ratings to downgrade the City's General Obligation Limited Tax and sales tax revenue ratings to A1 from Aa2, and the Combined Utility Enterprise rating to A1 from Aa3.

Utility work on Dasmarinas Drive at Aquarius Street will continue through Wednesday, December 17. 

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department invites vendors to apply for beach and park vending permits from December 15, 2025, through January 16, 2026. These permits cover the spring and summer season, from March 1 to September 30, 2026.

The City of Corpus Christi has finalized an agreement that allows the Oso Pony League to continue operating at the Southside Sports Complex, located at 1901 Paul Jones Avenue, while also expanding access to more community groups. This move supports youth sports and ensures that taxpayer-funded facilities are available to the public whenever possible.

Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) is honored to announce that it will serve as a departure point for the American Airlines “Snowball Express,” marking the first time the airport has participated in this powerful national initiative. This year, CCIA's flight is specifically dedicated to honoring the families of fallen First Responders.

At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council awarded a $2.1 million contract to A. Ortiz Construction & Paving, Inc., for the comprehensive reconstruction of East Surfside Boulevard. This project spans from Breakwater Avenue to Elm Street.

Utility work on Dasmarinas Drive will require a street closure from Wednesday, December 10, through Friday, December 12. Crews will close a section of Dasmarinas Drive between Aquarius Street and Quarterdeck Drive.

The City’s next Litter Critter community cleanup event will take place on Saturday, December 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at W. B. Ray High School, 1002 Texan Trail, in the parking lot located next to the Performing Arts Center.

Ongoing work on the Lawrence Street T-head piers will require closures of sections of the T-head beginning Monday, December 8. The section near Joe’s Crab Shack is estimated to be closed for about two months. Access to the T-Head remains open. Drivers will be able to turn around in the parking lot near the restaurant to exit the T-Head, as a section of the loop road will be closed.
