Temporary Utility Power Interruption at Police Headquarters Scheduled for August 3
The Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) Headquarters will experience a temporary utility power interruption on August 3 from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This scheduled outage is necessary to examine the existing CCPD main switchgear and install a new backup power generator.

Temporary Closure of Mt. Vernon Street at Everhart Road
Waterline improvements on Mt. Vernon Street at the intersection of Everhart Road will temporarily close the road from July 31 through August 2. During construction, Mt. Vernon Street will be closed from Everhart Road to Wynona Drive.

CCGAS to Purchase Rockport Natural Gas Utility System Assets
At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council authorized a sales agreement with the City of Rockport to purchase the assets of the City of Rockport Natural Gas Utility System. Funding for the $5.5 million purchase comes from the 2025 Utility System Revenue Bond.

City Council Approves $100.6 Million Safety Upgrade to O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant
At today’s scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved a $100.6 million construction contract with Reytec Construction Resources, Inc. of Houston to replace the aging chlorine gas system at O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant (ONSWTP) with a safer on-site chlorine generation system.

City Overcomes $7 Million General Fund Revenue Shortfall, Submits Balanced Proposed Budget for FY 2026
City Manager Peter Zanoni provided the City Council with the Fiscal Year 2026 Proposed Operating & Capital Budget before the first Council Budget Workshop scheduled for August 7.
