Beginning Monday, July 7, the northbound lanes of Everhart Road between South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and Lamont Street will be closed for ongoing street reconstruction work.
Starting Tuesday, July 8, westbound traffic on Commodores Drive will be redirected to the newly constructed bridge. This traffic shift is designed to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area. As construction continues, these newly opened lanes are still subject to periodic closures.
Beginning Monday, July 7, a temporary lane closure will be implemented on Calallen Drive at Smith Drive. Barricades will be in place as contractors install a new water line to improve Nueces River raw water transmission
During today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved $75,904 for additional lighting at Swantner Park to improve visibility and safety at the popular bayfront location.
City construction crews are preparing for waterline improvements at the South Padre Island Drive and Everhart Road intersection, part of voter-approved roadwork included in Bond 2018 and 2020.
Roadwork continues on Flato Road, requiring lane closures between Bates Road and Bear Lane.
Roadwork on Nueces Bay Boulevard between Up River Road and Leopard Street continues, with lane closures expected through July.
South Brownlee Boulevard will see varying lane closures as the project enters its next construction phase.
Motorists are advised that underground utility work near the intersection of Ennis Joslin Road and Nile Drive will require varying lane closures. Beginning Monday, June 2, crews will close a small section of the northbound lanes near the City’s Oso Water Treatment Plant, allowing two-way travel on the remaining lanes.
Continuing work on the Peoples Street Boardwalk will require a lane closure near the Peoples Street T-head, the landmass that goes into Corpus Christi Bay near the Marina from Shoreline Drive.
