2026 Gulf Beach Reserve: Beach Safety Week Kickoff Event

Can’t wait for summer? Everyone is invited to come and learn all about beach safety at the 2026 Beach Safety Week kickoff event. Join the Corpus Christi Beach Rescue team on Sunday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Windward Ellis Parking Lot (14926 Windward Drive). This informative and fun event will feature participating organizations promoting their summer camps and beach stewardship. Plus, enjoy exciting Beach Safety giveaways! Don’t miss this opportunity to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer at the beach.

Now Hiring Gulf Beach Lifeguards
For Spring Break and Summer 2026

The City of Corpus Christi is hiring Gulf Beach Lifeguards to fill its 2026 spring and summer positions. Attend one of our upcoming tryouts and interviews at the Corpus Christi Natatorium or Bill Witt Aquatic Center. Candidates must be 16 or older. A driver’s license is required for all Gulf Beach lifeguards. 

GULF BEACH LIFEGUARDS:

We offer competitive pay, a flexible schedule, and an increase for returning summer Pool and Gulf Beach lifeguards, along with a $250 end-of-summer bonus!

Tryout and Interview Dates: (Updated 5-6-26)

Corpus Christi Natatorium, 3202 Cabaniss Parkway
Saturdays and one Sunday, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

  • April 18 and 25 
  • May 2 and 9 (May 16 event is canceled)

Summer 2026; Junior Gulf Beach Lifeguard Camp; Two Camps: June 22-26 & July 13-17; Parks and Recreation

Summer 2026 Junior Gulf Beach Lifeguard Camps

The Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the Summer 2026 Junior Gulf Beach Lifeguard Camps. Designed for aspiring lifeguards aged 10 to 15, these camps provide essential training and skill development. The camps will be held at a city pool (TBA) and at the Corpus Christi Beach Rescue Office, 8185 Highway 361. The registration fee is $90 per person, per camp. Please refer to the flyer below for additional details.

TWO CAMPS: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • June 22–26
  • July 13–17

REQUIREMENTS:

Participants must successfully complete a skills assessment, including a 50-meter swim and 1 minute of treading water, to be eligible for the camp.

ONLINE REGISTRATION:

Open from May 1 to July 1. Space is limited to 15 students, so early registration is encouraged.

Bay Beaches

Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation maintains two bayfront beaches set along Corpus Christi Bay. Both North Beach and McGee Beach offer natural beauty with close proximity to the city's downtown, marina, and local attractions.

Gulf Beaches

Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation partners with Nueces County and the State of Texas to manage Gulf Beaches. Mustang Island State Park, North Packery BeachWhitecap Beach, and Padre Balli Park offer endless recreational opportunities for visitors and locals. Swim in the warm waters, build a stunning sandcastle, or simply relax with your toes in the sun-kissed sand and breathe in the salty fresh air—ah!

Sunrise Beach and Campgrounds

Sunrise Beach Campground and RV Park is located in San Patricio County on Lake Corpus Christi. It is owned and operated by Corpus Christi Water. From tent sites to full RV hookups there's a place for adventure for everyone.
