  • City Accepts Funding for Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements

    During today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved the acceptance of $15,092,700 from the Texas General Land Office’s Community Development Block Grants for Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) program. The funding will support improvements at the Greenwood and Oso Wastewater Treatment Plants. The grant does not require a City match.

    At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council took a significant step towards enhancing the City’s infrastructure by approving construction contracts totaling $35,000,000.

  • Work Set to Begin on Whitecap Boulevard Bridge and Gypsy Street Bridge

    Beginning Monday, April 28, crews will begin work on two bridges on North Padre Island. The projects include improvements to the Whitecap Boulevard bridge near Cruiser Street and the Gypsy Street bridge near Bounty Avenue. Construction will require varying lane closures.

About Us

The mission of the Engineering Services Department is to assist City departments in support of new projects and to maintain existing infrastructure through cost-effective execution of the Capital Improvement Program and technical support. We also inspect public infrastructure in new private developments.
